Body’s Wisdom

Imagine this: A diverse group of women from corners of the country, coming together for a women’s retreat in Sedona with one shared purpose— to dive deeper into true selves. It was an awe-inspiring journey of self-discovery, where we explored what truly brings them joy and lights them up.

It was a powerful reminder that life isn't just about surviving; it's about thriving.

Between the towering beauty of the Red Rocks and the intensity of the heat of the late summer sun, I couldn’t help but think about nature and the order of things.

Think about it… The world is an orderly place. Day follows night, season follows season. Every living thing exists within the rules of a natural order.

Nature provides signals that help all living things follow the rules of survival.

For example, in spring, leaves "read" a light signal, prompting plants to bloom. Nature even gives multiple signals to ensure plants don't sprout prematurely on warm autumn days before the winter frost arrives.

Now, let’s talk about us. Many of us find ourselves stuck in survival mode. I’ve certainly been there. Reflecting on my own journey, I realize that, like so many, I struggled to pay attention to my body’s “warning signals”. Especially when anxiety, stress or people-pleasing took over, i’d ignore or suppressed hunger and tiredness, neglecting my body's calls for nourishment and rest.

But here's the beautiful part: in my path to recovery, I've learned to attune myself to my body's signals. Something as simple as responding early, rather than waiting for a growling stomach or extreme fatigue, has made a profound difference in my life.

Today, I intentionally structure my day around my body's needs, aligning myself with the natural order of things.

Why is this so crucial? Well, it turns out our bodies are like compasses leading us toward our best lives. When we stop listening, we not only disconnect from ourselves but also from the natural order that propels us toward our fullest potential.

So, I invite you to pause today. Tune in, listen to your body, and honor the signals it shares. It's a small yet incredibly significant step—a reconnection with your truest self and a reconnection to the natural order that leads to a life filled with joy, purpose, and peace.

Stop abandoning yourself and start embracing the beauty within.
